In collaboration with Forge Project, a Native-led initiative centered on Indigenous art and decolonial education. This article was written by Rica Maestas and it explores the significance of learning from a small seed pod called goatheads, and how “they are also key examples of how beings shaped by colonialism build and protect community, reinvigorate damaged ecosystems, and seed solidarity across varying experiences of loss and fragmentation.” 

I was commissioned to illustrate the header, tutorial, and a short animated video that will be published alongside the article.
