Design Transforms Borders

Production, Exhibition Design, Community Engagement


In collaboration with design specialists from Central Saint Martins-the University of the Arts London, Touching Land, and Territorial Empathy, we co-produced an interactive installation, workshops, and three expert panels as a part of New York City Design Week. This project invited participants to join live studios of ceramic making, communal dinners, and debates promoting access, learning, and social justice with immigrant communities of Sunset Park, Brooklyn. 

My role as Touching Land’s Lead Designer was more hands-on with this project, I assisted with workshops and the production logistics of the exhibition alongside certain design assets. I was especially interested in using design as a medium to explore the topic of borders, whether they exist in the world or in our minds, and their effects on our communities.
